Story Time: It's a Doggy Dog's World

She was very happy. It was the best gift she had ever received from him. She thanked him and landed a peck on his cheeks. She always wanted to get a pup but it never happened. He didn't like dogs but went on to buy one from a family friend who was also a veterinarian. The couple named him Ronnie. Ronnie was a white Lhasa apso with the cutest pair of eyes in the world. It was just 10 days old.

Soon after two days, Ronnie fell sick. He refused to eat anything. He sat at one place and was very grumpy through out the day. The couple decides to take Ronnie to the doctor friend from whom he was taken. While they were talking to the doctor at his home clinic, Ronnie went towards his mother. He started drinking milk from her along with his other siblings. It was a heart wrenching sight for the couple.

Man for his own gain has turned everything into a business. We take care of our children even when they are old. We even decide their life partner and govern all the important decisions of their lives. But little Ronnie, a 12 days old pup can't stay with his mother or even drink milk from her. Soon, his other siblings would also be sold and they would be deprived as well. Animals can't tell man how they feel. All we do is assume their feelings. "Dog is man's best friend." And you know who wrote that quote.

The couple couldn't separate Ronnie from his family after what they saw. Ronnie was sitting close to his mother when they left. On the drive back home, there was utter silence. She forgot how to smile. Ronnie's face kept flashing in her mind. She didn't go to work for days. She believed having Ronnie was the happiest event of her life and with him all the happiness is gone too.

One morning she opened the door and found that Ronnie was there. He had brought it back. She instantly screamed out of joy and held Ronnie in her hands and cuddled him. But why? she later asks him and looked at him in dilemma. He said, "The world is a cruel place. It's rules are not understood by the emotion driven human brain. If I were not to take Ronnie with me, definitely someone else would have. He is not destined to live with the mother or the family. You have to be his mother and provide utmost care." Sometimes or rather most of the times, while making decisions we have to keep our emotions aside and do what is wise and not what is right.
